A vast river, thousands of wishes.

Stumbled upon this scene while i was taking a stroll along Singapore River at the esplanade bridge a few days back.
Its simply amazing how many of us, be it fellow singaporeans or just people from different woks of life coming together and penning down their resolutions for the New year on these white inflated balls .

They are not just white balloons, they are thoughts and hopes of each and every individual living in anticpation.

Wonder how i can have my own resolution penned on it and letting it float too?

Have you made yours yet?

Self declarations

Stop hiding. Run up to it, believing that you will only rise and not falter.

Stop crying. Wipe those tears away believing that you are stronger than anyone else.

Stop standing here. Keep moving believing that your destination is still miles away.

Stop contemplating. Because there is more to life than it seems.

Ive been feeling small in the huge crowd that revolves around me, its so hard to shine, its so hard to live by the life i envision, because everything just moves too quickly.

Thankful for that centerstage.

When every individual wants to shine, they would.
Against all odds they will want to be noticed, up there, focused and composed.

Standing in front of a crowd has never been easy yet it just took your breath away.
I emulate the worship leaders for being able to do that every Sunday.
The Christmas Stomp was a huge success, we stomped our beats with every victorious strike of the barrel drum. The audience were in awe, i guess?
Lighting effects added on dynamism, props and camera finetuned everything, the performance was awesome.

What more can i say? forging deep bonds between all of us from different cell groups and generations in such a huge community, numerous rehearsals that went up to late nights, energy draining practices that took its toll on us, but it was worth it, all worth it.

Efforts paid off, amidst the exaggerated makeup and construction worker/painter-like costumes, we reaped what we have sown.

Im thankful for every stomper, thankful i had joined this team and not regretting it.

Sometimes, we just have to take time for a little thanksgiving because every thought beats with our heart, and such things are meant to be thankful for, not resentful for.

Its past Christmas, but the spirit stays.
Happy thanksgiving.

Let your good heart lead you home

I was browsing through a typeface reference book just now when i came across this phrase.
"Let your good heart lead you home"

And below it flashed this verse,
" Sharks swim around you,
Drowning soul
Let your good heart
Lead you home."

Pondering upon what it all meant and im guessing its about breaking out of the cracks.
The cracks of disappointment, the cracks of abandonment , the cracks of isolation, the cracks of helplessness, the cracks of threat, the cracks of every single loss that we may feel at different situations.

These cracks drown us, literally, and at the end of the day, we are just living in self denial, lost, afraid of what is ahead of us.

A good heart. this perhaps, is the beginning of how we get resuscitated. following our heart, following that fiery passion rising up inside, following that life experience you had encounter before, following that one and only inspiration you had, following the voice of truth, following the virtues that you deem of worth, following that good heart of yours.

Life is worth living every second for.
Why drown? when there is CPR. and that CPR is the good heart of yours.
Ultimately, it leads me home.

Festive cheer

Christmas Gift exchange in class last friday, 18th.
the 2 week break has just begun but its not exactly holidays for us.
our mind is still screaming 'fyp'.

Recevied Fify's gift. Thanks for the whacky ducky vacuum cleaner, perhaps sucking all the dust away, could it suck my faltering thoughts away as well?

Good company to round up our Christmas celebration.

I need to focus, rid off the distractions and determined to move on.

Mercy on me, inspirations come to a standstill.

When the clock strikes 12 midnight, every bit of your time is running out.

In between

It all happens in the state of your mind,
when all things seem unclear
To rise up, stand and glorify
its how we falter , how we fear

You move a step foward
unable to walk on
you look back again
hesistant and torn

Between these two worlds
you are right in between
Within these close walls
you don't hear a thing.

Sometimes, all we need is some drastic change.

Three families, One destination.

So, our family getaway this end of year is to Kota Kinabalu, the heart of Sabah.
And its not only our family of 4 this time but including my aunt's family and uncle john's.
12 in all.

beautiful sights along the way as usual, Mount kinabalu, nature parks, canopy walks, hot springs , seafood and beaches, laid-back. Time is in our hands.

the only thing about the whole trip is me still thinking bout studio and firmenich projects, the burdens are just bugging me. besides that, i was trying to have fun.

Anyway, pictures of relation here:

Departure, Day one, 26th nov 1015am
and yes, we flew there, because it takes bout 14 hours to get to KK by coach, so we flew there in 2 hours. convenient and the most important thing is, i get onboard a flight again.

Welcome to Kota Kinabalu!
Hotel we are residing in:

Aunts and Cousins.
the hotel room was pretty chic, shared it with sis.
thanks jo for that.toilet ambassadors.

yes there is disney channel!
we headed to the hypermall that was linked to our hotel for lunch.
and then we headed to the arcade, the kids seemed to love it there!
i had a wild time as well, just testing out my driving skills with daytona and motorbike races.
bbhoops got us going.

my cousin is freaking tall, he is 14 and he is already bout 170 or taller. and the little one is his sister.

Day 2, 0730
Morning skies as i drew the curtains.
The first signs of daylight long gone,
but the rays shone beyond the horizon, bringing forth the clouds.
Incredible sight.
Hearty breakfast, Hot tea.
Wisp of smoke, Warmth with every sip.

there we saw the wonder, Mount Kinabalu.
Had always wanted to scale that mountain, lets wait and see.

the real hot spring water from underneath.
Notice the smoke? its hot enough to boil eggs and cook maggie.

jo and me:]

mum, jo and dad !

and then we got to soak our legs in already diluted hot spring water!

the beautiful mothers who are probably more active in me in facebook .
the men! and jianheng at the back learning how to be like them.
Seafood at this restaurant in the heart of KK for 2 nights for dinner.
Cheap, good and fresh.
yes, it was way too fresh to this extent.
i was grossed out by these creatures in bottles. Fascinated but grossified.
How did they ever grow inside!
Day 3 1030am some beach near the airport. say hello to our little hermit crabby friend.
and say hello to my little cousin, who loves the beach as much as i do.
us and her!
mum being our model or was she just stoning and smiling to herself? :D
Last day before we head towards to the airport, 0930
Sunday market at KK
and off to KK Airport!

Appreciated the trip.

Thanks to the parents who made this possible. it lift things off my mind for a while.
